KREDDIBLE TROUT PHOTOGRAPHY
urban layercake and tree
2010
yes, there’s a tree in there.

I was on my way to a meeting today (‘meeting’ what am I a businessman?) and I strolled past this gigantic hole in the ground. I assume there’s going to be a building in there soon but right now it’s a gaping gash in the earth. There’s something about the scope of how we do things that, as disconcerting as it is, draws me in with some of that morbid curiosity. At the bottom, some water had pooled, perhaps in a desperate attempt to promote an new, better evolution than the one it plopped out last time. We’ll have to wait & see.
The building standing directly next to the hole (presumably safely balanced on the precipice of progress) threw a handy contrast for this snickering troublemaker to stop just long enough to be slightly late for my meeting. Adding to it all, the graffiti which takes up residence somewhere between the natural and corporate worlds in this smorgasbord of visual, social and ecological blasphemies.

I honestly didn’t notice the tree until I uploaded it into my computer. There’s something to be said about that too.
